Denise Scott, broker/owner of Lewis & Lambright, remembers working for her Grandpa, Wink, and Dad, Harvey, in the office on Saturdays, answering the phone while they were out at auctions. This was back in the 7Os, my start of working for her family. During her senior year of high school she worked at L&L on an ICE program, working ½ the day at the office and ½ the day at school.
After graduation, she planned to move to Florida and attend fashion merchandising school at Ft. Lauderdale. This was until the summer after she graduated; she met her future husband, Carl, and then decided to stay in LaGrange. They were married four years later in 1985.
Denise continued working at Lewis & Lambright for her Dad and Mom and received her real estate license in 1987. 1n 1988 she took part of a year off to have her son, Chase, and be a stay at home mom. She worked part time until he started school. In 2012 Chase was tragically killed while leaving their family home on his motorcycle. He had graduated from tech school in Orlando, Florida as a marine mechanic and was employed at Forest River Marine in research and development.
She took over the family business after her parents passing and loves her job. “I always remember how my parents instilled in us to be honest, fair, and to treat everyone how we would want to be treated. There is nothing quite as satisfying as helping someone find their dream home.”
